Next week marijuana legalization will be on the ballot in Arkansas, Maryland, Missouri, North Dakota and South Dakota.
Because of this, rap icon and marijuana enthusiast, Snoop Dogg lent his support to legalizing recreational marijuana use for adults.
On November 1st, Snoop encouraged his followers to Vote Yes on the legalization of cannabis on next week’s ballot. The carousel Instagram post listed five states – Arkansas, Maryland, Missouri, North Dakota, and South Dakota that received his support on the question.
He captioned the post “F.y.i. Do what you got 2 do n vote. 💫”..
Maryland already legalized medical marijuana and decriminalized small amounts.
Question 4 on the ballot asks voters, “Do you favor the legalization of the use of cannabis by an individual who is at least 21 years of age on or after July 1, 2023, in the State of Maryland?”
If passed, adults 21 and older can have up to 1.5 ounces of marijuana starting July 2023. People caught with larger amounts could face civil fines.
It would also allow those previously convicted of cannabis possession and intent to distribute to apply for record expungement.
An amendment known as issue 4 would authorize possession and use of
cannabis by adults as well by sale at facilities.
If passed, the legalization would go into effect on March 8, 2023.
A proposed constitutional amendment would remove state prohibitions on purchasing, possessing, consuming, using, delivering, manufacturing, and selling marijuana for personal use for adults over the age of 21.
If passed, it would be enacted 30 days after the election.
A coalition of North Dakotans, created a ballot measure that would allow responsible use of marijuana for adults 21 and over.
The measure would allow up to one ounce of cannabis possession, up to four grams of cannabis concentrate, and up to 500 milligrams of cannabis in an infused product
If passed, it would become law 30 days after the election.
South Dakotans were able to get enough signatures on a new ballot this year to legalize recreational marijuana.
Measure 27 would legalize marijuana possession, use and distribution, according to the ballot measure. If passed, marijuana possession of up to an ounce would be legal. It also would legalize possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
If passed, it would be enacted on July 1, 2023.
