Megan Thee Stallion is fully embracing her latest single “Bongos,” a collaboration with Cardi B, and showcasing her character from the upcoming show “Big Mouth.” On September 17, she shared a TikTok video demonstrating her impressive twerking skills, captioning it, “Before the gym [tongue-out emoji] She toned but it still move don’t panic [cry-laughing emoji].”
Billie Eilish responded to the post, commenting, “Megan I’m literally free whenever.”
Back in March, Megan Thee Stallion was seen wearing a pair of Eilish’s newly released Nike Air Force 1 Low sneakers while throwing the first pitch for the Houston Astros. Eilish shared a photo of Megan on the mound on her Instagram Story, expressing her excitement that Megan was wearing her shoes and calling her “the love of my life.”
It’s heartening to see Megan Thee Stallion confidently stepping back into the spotlight after the trauma she suffered at the hands of Tory Lanez. Lanez was sentenced to 10 years in prison in August, eight months after being found guilty on three felony counts related to shooting Megan in her feet in July 2020.
Megan Thee Stallion issued a statement during Lanez’s sentencing, stating that she had not had a single day of peace since the incident over three years ago. She described being tormented and terrorized by Lanez and said that he not only shot her but also mocked her trauma. Her statement served as a powerful message for all survivors that their lives matter and violence should not be tolerated.
It’s encouraging to see signs that Megan is starting to regain her sense of self.
