Nas and 21 Savage dropped a new single titled ‘One Mic One Gun’ and social media has mixed feelings about it.

We previously reported that while on Clubhouse, 21 Savage speaks on Nas’ relevancy. He says, “I don’t feel like he’s relevant,” he explained. “I just feel like he got a loyal fan base. He still makes good music.” While on the call, 21 was asked his definition of relevance. “Mostly connected or appropriate to what’s being done to be considered,” he then said in response.

After the comments went viral, Nas’ brother Jungle had an opinion of his own. He comments under The Shaderoom’s post, “21 Savage is trash. Glad Nas dropped KD3 so fans can hear real bars…21 can you do something for me? (laughing emojis).”

21 followed up and says his comments were taken out of context. He explains via Twitter, “I would never disrespect nas or any legend who paved the way for me y’all be tryna take stuff and run with it…”

Nas also entered the chat. While teasing the new single, he captions the promo pic “Nas x @21savage TONIGHT Only way we moving is with love, respect and unity. The foundational principles of hip hop. Excited to collaborate with my young brother and I hope more artist use turbulent moments and turn them into a time to make new art. That’s what it’s about..”

Social media reacts to the new single. Take a look below.

That Nas & 21 Savage collab is what hip hop needs. Put all the ego aside.— E (@be_eazy22) November 30, 2022

They couldve kept that Nas & 21 savage collab.— 👽 (@goutemoix) November 30, 2022

Nas SLID on One Mic One Gun with 21 Savage. I hope that other rappers will take note and bridge the gap between the eras of hip hop. A lot of younger artists don’t have any idea how the culture evolved because a lot of the older artists are celebrated & the history isn’t taught.— dj spydermann (@djspydermann) November 30, 2022

Whether you like the Nas & 21 Savage song or not (I do because I enjoy both of their music) you have to like the message it sends from the veteran to the newer hot rapper.I can admit I was heated when 21 used that relevant word but once he walked it back I understood him.— Old Head Energy (@Cheamane) November 30, 2022

Last month, Adidas officially ended its long-term partnership with Kanye, after he made anti-Semitic threats on Twitter. “Adidas does not tolerate antisemitism and any other sort of hate speech,” the company said in a statement. “Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness.” Because of this, Kanye is no longer a billionaire.
