Vic Mensa is set to release his second studio album, over six years after his solo debut. The album, titled “Victor,” has been in the works since January, with the first single, “Strawberry Louis Vuitton” featuring Thundercat, released earlier this year. Since then, Mensa has also released a music video for “Swish” featuring Chance The Rapper and G-Eazy, as well as a trailer for the album inspired by modern art. He also joined Chance The Rapper at a series of shows celebrating the 10th anniversary of Chance’s career-launching mixtape, “Acid Rap.”
“Victor” is set to be released on September 15 via Roc Nation Records. The album will feature collaborations with Chance The Rapper, G-Eazy, and Thundercat, as well as appearances from actor Omari Hardwick, Chicago rap veteran Common, New Orleans hip-hop artist Jay Electronica, singers Ant Clemons, Dixson, Lekan, and Ty Dolla Sign, and Inglewood indie rap artist D Smoke.
The tracklist for “Victor” includes 18 songs, with previously released tracks including “Eastside Girl (Bonus Track),” “Blue Eyes,” and “Lvln Up.” While a tour for the album has not yet been announced, Mensa is scheduled to perform with Chance later this month.
