On the social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, Elon Musk is known for sharing memes that may not always be humorous or may have been funny in a previous internet era. On September 14, he posted an image comparing the vintage Success Kid meme to a photo of Thanos, with the caption, “Remember this kid? This is him now. Feel old yet?”
X users responded with similar memes, some of which elicited laughing emoji reactions from Musk. One meme he particularly enjoyed compared Ice Cube to a glass of water, which he shared on his own account. Ice Cube took this opportunity to respond with a meme comparing the old Twitter logo to a dumpster fire, with the caption, “Remember Twitter? This [is] it now, feel stupid yet?”
Ice Cube isn’t the only musician who has criticized Musk’s management of X. Dionne Warwick recently commented on Musk’s decision to remove the blocking feature on X, saying, “I have yet to speak to that young man and I intend to because I am not quite sure what he’s doing or if he knows what he’s doing. So until that happens, I’ll reserve my answer to that question.”
