The “It’s Only Us Tour” by Grammy-nominated rapper Lil Baby has experienced several setbacks. Just weeks before the tour was due to begin, several dates were abruptly cancelled without any explanation to ticket holders. Shortly after, the tour lost its main opening act, The Kid Laroi. Despite these initial hiccups, the tour seemed to be back on track until a tragic incident occurred on September 7.
During Lil Baby’s performance at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee, a male concertgoer was shot, as reported by ABC News. The victim was rushed to Regional One Health Medical Center and was listed in critical condition due to his injuries.
WREG-TV reported that Lil Baby was quickly escorted offstage when gunshots rang out in the stadium. He was not injured in the incident.
The Memphis Police Department shared limited details about the incident via X (formerly Twitter), including the time of the shooting. The identity of the shooter remains unknown at this time.
Before the show, Lil Baby had shared a behind-the-scenes photo on Instagram expressing his excitement for the performance. Following the shooting, fans flooded the comments section of the post to express their thoughts on the tragic incident.
One local fan apologized for the incident, writing, “we sorry i promise.” Another suggested that Lil Baby should consider performing in Southaven next time to avoid such incidents. A third fan expressed concern that Lil Baby might not return for future tours due to the incident.
As of now, neither Lil Baby nor his representatives have made any public statements about the shooting.
