Rapper and entrepreneur Jay-Z is set to host a James Bond-themed blackjack tournament later this month, with proceeds going towards his non-profit organization, REFORM Alliance. The organization is dedicated to reforming probation, parole, and sentencing in the US through legislation and political lobbying.
The event, first reported by Page Six, is scheduled to take place on September 30 at the Oceans Casino Resort in Atlantic City. With a $1 million pot, participants will need to pay a $100,000 buy-in fee to join the tournament.
Several high-profile celebrities are expected to attend, including Travis Scott, Megan Thee Stallion, Kim Kardashian, DJ Khaled, James Harden, and Emily Ratajkowski. A source told Page Six that the event was Jay-Z’s idea to create an exclusive gathering with “the best people in the world,” adding that one cannot simply buy their way into the party.
Comedian Kevin Hart is reportedly set to emcee the event, which will be hosted by the REFORM Alliance Board. Jay-Z aims to raise $20 million for REFORM, matching the amount he raised with his Shawn Carter Foundation Gala in July.
In other news, Jay-Z is currently being featured in “The Book Of Hov,” an exhibition at the Brooklyn Library that highlights his achievements in hip-hop and tells an immersive story of his upbringing in New York. The exhibition will run until October.
