Atlanta-based rapper JID recently marked the first anniversary of his third studio album, “The Forever Story,” on Instagram. During an Instagram Live stream, he disclosed his plans for several follow-up projects, including a previously hinted collaboration with Metro Boomin.

In a video clip shared by a fan account, JID humorously claimed he was too “old” for Instagram while announcing three upcoming projects: a “two-pack” with fellow Atlanta rapper Lil Yachty to be released in a few days, a new album slated for release in the fall, and the Metro Boomin project. The fall release is reportedly titled “Forever & A Day,” which could be a continuation of “The Forever Story.” JID mentioned it would contain around ten songs but did not reveal further details such as potential collaborators or producers.

JID’s collaboration with Lil Yachty is also generating interest, particularly given Yachty’s recent creative output, which includes the psych-rock project “Let’s Start Here” and a series of compelling freestyles. JID has been busy touring his album; earlier this year, he and Smino embarked on their “Luv Is 4ever Tour,” and he is currently performing overseas.

If the Metro Boomin project is released this year, it will cap off an impressive year for the St. Louis producer. Metro Boomin released “Heroes & Villains” in December, the “Across The Spider-Verse” soundtrack in June, and “Business Is Business” with Young Thug later that month. He also sold part of his catalog for $70 million and has been working on projects with ASAP Rocky and Future, in addition to JID.
