Tory Lanez has been moved to state prison to serve his 10-year sentence after being found guilty of three felony charges related to shooting Megan Thee Stallion three years ago. With this case resolved, legal affairs journalist Meghann Cuniff can now focus on other issues.
On September 20, Cuniff shared court documents on X (previously known as Twitter), revealing that US District Judge Michael W. Fitzgerald has ordered Kenneth Petty, Nicki Minaj’s husband, to serve up to 120 days of home detention. This sentence is due to Petty making threatening remarks towards a specific individual while in the company of someone with a criminal record.
Cuniff also reminded her followers that Judge Fitzgerald had sentenced Petty to three years probation in July 2022 for failing to register as a sex offender.
This recent development is connected to videos that surfaced last weekend showing Petty and his group making threats towards Offset and his wife, Cardi B. Offset responded by posting a video on his now-expired Instagram story, in which he is seen laughing and mocking Petty.
Nicki Minaj and Petty were named in a lawsuit two years ago for allegedly harassing Jennifer Hough, whom Petty was convicted of raping in 1995. Earlier this year, Minaj’s attempt to sanction Tyrone Blackburn, Hough’s lawyer, was denied by an East New York judge.
