Over the past month, rapper Lil Wayne has been quite active, delivering a new theme song for FS1’s revamped show, Undisputed, and leading Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes onto the field while performing “Ride For My N****s (Sky Is The Limit).” On September 27, Wayne announced on Instagram that his new album, Tha Fix Before Tha VI, is set to be released on Friday, September 29.
In addition to the announcement, Lil Wayne also unveiled the album’s presumed red-hued cover art and a 10-song tracklist. The single “Kat Food” was released on September 1.
As Uproxx’s Aaron Williams previously noted, this album is expected to serve as an introduction to his forthcoming sixth installment of Tha Carter.
Earlier this year on March 31, Wayne released a compilation album titled I Am Music, which included classic hits such as “Lollipop” and “Mr. Carter.” On the same day as his album announcement, the video for Tyga’s “Brand New,” featuring Lil Wayne and YG, premiered. This track is part of Tyga and YG’s joint project, Hit Me When U Leave The Klub, which is also set to be released on Friday, September 29.
The tracklist for Tha Fix Before Tha VI is as follows:
1. “Act Up” Feat. Jon Batiste
2. “Birds”
3. “Slip”
4. “Kat Food”
5. “Tuxedo” Feat. Euro
6. “To The Bank”
7. “Chanel No. 5” Feat. Fousheé
8. “No New B*tches”
