Lil Wayne has reached the level in his career that Lil Wayne is honored by having his own exhibition on display at the National Museum of African American Music (NMAAM) to celebrate his 40th birthday.
According to a press release The NMAAM located in Nashville, Tennessee, will hold an event to allow attendees to look at artifacts created by Weezy like the Grammy award for Rap Album of the Year and the BET “I Am Hip-Hop” Award, a letter written from Rikers Island, and an original CD from the album he released on major label, Tha Block Is Hot.
Participants in the exhibit will also be able to hear the voice of Lil Wayne as well as live music. The exhibit will also feature an interactive part of the exhibit, where visitors can record themselves singing the lyrics of Lil Wayne in an impromptu rap studio that was set up by the NMAAM.
In addition, guests will receive an online lecture that is hosted by an assortment consisting of Vanderbilt professors. The lecture that will be live streamed will focus Weezy’s life and work and will be delivered by Professors who include Dr. Gillum Sharpley, Associate Chair of African American & Diaspora Studies as well as the Dr. Michael Eric Dyson, Centennial Chair and University Distinguished Professor of African American and Diaspora Studies.
“I’m very grateful to work with NMAAM and show students how Hip-Hop has been so influential on the culture,” Lil Wayne said in an announcement. “Shout out to NMAAM for all the birthday love.”

Following the news of Mr. Carter expressing his interest in working with us, we learned that 10 years ago, he became the first female artist to beat Elvis Presley with the most songs on the Billboard Hot 100, with more than 109 songs.”
The news about the show is just a few days after Lil Wayne received an outpouring of love for his 40th birthday from friends including Kanye West Drake, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, 2 Chainz and Cam’ron. Missy Elliott, Snoop Dogg, NBA YoungBoy, DJ Khaled, Janet Jackson and many more.
Lil Wayne also received 22 platinum certifications at the same time of his birthday. These were awarded by his organization, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
The platinum plaques of the new generation span Wayne’s entire career and contain the biggest hits of his career including one of his most notable achievements including “6 Foot 7 Foot,” and “Love Me” featuring Drake and Future that are now 7x platinum.
