In a recent interview with Billboard, singer-songwriter Noah Kahan opened up about the success of his album Stick Season (We’ll All Be Here Forever) and his collaboration with rapper Post Malone on the track “Dial Drunk”. Kahan shared insights into what it was like working with Malone behind the scenes.

Kahan described his encounter with Malone as exactly what he had hoped for. He said, “he was sitting crossed-legged, drinking Bud Lights [and] smoking cigarettes.”

The two artists reportedly bonded over their shared love for the movie Walk Hard, leading Kahan to believe that their collaboration is far from over. He expressed his desire to write music with Malone from scratch, appreciating the rapper’s disregard for sticking to one genre. Kahan said, “What I love about [him] is he is so untethered by genre… I would love to make some weird sh*t.”

Kahan’s popularity has skyrocketed in recent months, thanks to his viral success on TikTok. Despite Stick Season being his third album, it was created during the pandemic and holds a special place in his heart. He described the feeling in the studio as something special and felt creatively in control while making the album.
