Rapper Polo G’s home in Los Angeles was searched by police on Wednesday, August 23, in relation to a robbery case. Bradford Cohen, the rapper’s attorney, later stated that the search was conducted solely to confirm that Polo G is not a convicted felon. However, the story has since developed further.
XXL reported on August 24 that Polo G, along with his brother and fellow rapper Trench Baby, were arrested the previous night on charges of kidnapping, robbery, and assault. They were taken into custody by the Burbank, California Police Department.
A representative from the Burbank Police Department informed the media that “Mr. Taurus Bartlett (Polo G) and his brother, Mr. Taurean Bartlett (Trench Baby), were arrested and booked on charges of kidnapping, robbery, and assault with a deadly weapon. These charges originated from a report filed in April this year where Taurus and Taurean Bartlett were named as suspects.”
The statement further revealed that “After Mr. Taurus and Taurean Bartlett were released from LAPD’s custody on unrelated charges, investigators from Burbank PD were ready to take them into custody for the Burbank case. They were arrested without any incident and have since been released on $100,000 bail. The formal charges are still under review by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.”
