Megan Thee Stallion, the rapper known for her hit “Bongos”, has reportedly cancelled her upcoming performance at the 2023 Global Citizen Festival in New York City. Fans in the tri-state area will now only have one chance to see her perform live, which is at the 2023 VMAs happening tonight, September 12.
According to Billboard, Megan Thee Stallion has withdrawn from the Global Citizen Festival due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict. Although there has been no official announcement on the event’s social media pages, a representative confirmed the news in a statement shared exclusively with them.
The representative stated, “Due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict, Megan Thee Stallion will no longer be available to perform at the 2023 Global Citizen Festival.”
Despite Megan’s withdrawal, the festival’s lineup still includes notable artists like Jung Kook, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Anitta, and others. The Global Citizen Festival is an annual event aimed at ending poverty worldwide. It calls on world and corporate leaders to support its mission for financial equity, environmental justice, and food and job security for all.
