The Weeknd is currently on his international After Hours ‘Til Dawn Tour. During a recent performance, as reported by HipHopDX, the Canadian singer allowed a fan to briefly take over the singing while he was performing “Out Of Time”.
He handed the microphone to a woman in the front row, only to instantly regret his decision. The woman’s scream was so loud and wild that The Weeknd quickly took back the microphone and moved further into the crowd. This humorous incident was captured in a video.
Despite this minor hiccup, The Weeknd’s tour has been largely successful. Live Nation UK reports that he broke Wembley Stadium’s record for sales with their traditional concert setup, selling 87,000 tickets.
In addition, The Weeknd broke the attendance record at his two shows at London Stadium last month, attracting 160,000 fans. “It’s incredible to see The Weeknd hit this milestone less than halfway through his massive sold-out European run,” said Live Nation’s touring president, Omar Al-joulani. “This historic moment in London shows the global fan base he has cultivated over the years.”
Despite these successes, it seems inevitable that with so many fans attending his concerts, unexpected incidents are bound to occur.
