Beastie Boys members Ad-Rock (Adam Horovitz) and Mike D (Mike Diamond) are set to host a celebration at the newly renamed Beastie Boys Square on September 9, as part of the 50 Years Of Hip-Hop festivities. The band had previously hinted at the street renaming with posters scattered around the city.

The event, a collaboration between The City Of New York and Council Member Chris Marte, will take place at the intersection of Ludlow and Rivington in NYC. This location is notable to fans as it is featured on the album cover for ‘Paul’s Boutique’.

The celebration will feature a DJ set from Jon Bless HiFi System, pop-up activations, and more, as stated in a press release. The event is scheduled to begin at noon and conclude at 2 p.m. ET.

Additionally, fans will have the opportunity to attend the first in-cinema screenings of ‘Beastie Boys Story’, a documentary directed by Spike Jonze that was released on Apple TV+ in 2020. The film will be shown at the IFC Center on September 8 and 9 at 11:30 p.m., serving as an extension of the party in honor of the band.

Lastly, on September 7, SiriusXM will revive their exclusive Beastie Boys Channel. Listeners can tune into channel 105 to enjoy classics, deep cuts, live recordings, and more.
