Afrobeats singer Adekunle Gold has had a successful couple of years, gaining recognition beyond his native Nigeria and securing a record deal with Def Jam Records. His latest album, “Tequila Ever After,” was released on August 1 and features 18 tracks with contributions from artists like Khalid, Coco Jones, Zinoleesky, Pharrell, and more. Now, less than two months after its release, Adekunle Gold is set to take “Tequila Ever After” on a North American tour starting September 22. The tour will also feature guest artists Nonso Amadi and Masicka.
Nonso Amadi is a Nigerian-born singer who grew up in the UK. He released his first EP, “Alone,” in 2015 and gained popularity with his song “Tonight” the following year. He has since collaborated with artists like Maleek Berry, Juls, Santi, Odunsi (The Engine), and others. His debut album “When It Blooms” features 15 songs and guest appearances from Majid Jordan, Tay Iwar, Beam, Zinoleesky, and Tamera.
Masicka is a Jamaican dancehall artist who gained fame after winning a deejay competition sponsored by Caribbean media platform Hype TV. He continued to earn accolades, winning the Best Upcoming Artist at Jamaica’s Music Industry Achievers Award in 2013 and receiving a nomination for Best Male Artiste at the 2020 International Reggae & World Music Awards. His last project was “Start From The Grung” in 2018, but he has released several singles over the past year.
The “Tequila Ever After Tour” will kick off in Dallas, Texas on September 22 and will travel to cities like Houston, Atlanta, Washington DC, Brooklyn, Boston, Montreal, Toronto, Chicago, Minneapolis, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver, and Edmonton. Masicka will perform at select dates.
